How To Pick The Best Boots For Winter

Today I want to talk about how to pick the best boots for winter. There are a lot of boots out there with lots of options. So much so, that it can get a bit confusing when trying to find the right boots. So I wanted to clear it up for you with the video below.

In general, when it comes to choosing the best boots for the cold winter weather, you want to make sure they are insulated.

There’s nothing worse than having cold feet in a pair of boots that you thought were going to do the exact opposite.

Actually, I take that back. There is something worse. Having cold, wet feet.

Which leads me to the next point. Look for waterproof boots.

You really don’t want wet feet. That can cause a whole host of other issues, along with just being cold.

Next up, you want to choose boots that have an aggressive sole so that you won’t slip and slide.

The stylish boots out there with leather soles on the bottom are just not going to cut it.

If you want to see a perfect example of this, hang out in New York City during a snowstorm and watch the commuters who don’t have the right boots. It’s a sure bet that someone will slip and fall hard.

Lastly, and most importantly, the boots must fit. If they don’t fit, not only can they cause pain, but they can also lead to other issues.

To make sure they fit properly, it will take some time to try them on.

That’s why I recommend an actual boot-fitting.

This will actually save you time from having to go out and find a bunch of different boots from different places to find the best one.

If you’d like to find the best winter boots for your feet and want to save time, then I’m here to do a fitting for you.

If you’d like that, scroll down and schedule a time in the calendar below.

Best Boots For Construction Workers

Want to know what are the best boots for construction workers? Watch the video below.

In the video above, we’ll take a bit of a journey across a bunch of different brands, from Red Wing to Danner to Carolina boots, so that way you can see what types of options are out there for good boots.

The thing about boots for construction workers is that there are a lot of different options to select from.

So it’s important to know the demands of your job first so that you can pick the right one.

For example, getting a logger boot with a big heel will not be right for you if you deal with a lot of steel or rebar.

Your heel will catch, and it will become a tripping issue.

So knowing the demands of the job is very important.

Once you know that, then you’ll want a boot that fits correctly.

And the only way you’ll know that is by trying on a pair and having them fitted correctly.

What About Ordering Boots Online?

Of course, you can order your boots online, but it’s not something I recommend for the simple fact that you’ll never be able to try them on before you buy them.

If they don’t fit, you can return them, but you’ll be playing the fitting game and have to buy multiple boots to find the right fit.

The reason you want the boots to fit correctly from the start is that they are much stiffer and tougher on your feet than shoes.

Plus, the demands of your job are much higher than the average job.

So if you have the wrong boot and it doesn’t fit your foot…

There’s a much higher chance of foot pain.

And if you have any foot pain, it will slow you down on the job site and increase your chance of injury.

So having the right boot—one that fits right and feels right—is crucial.

Plus, trying a pair on and having them fitted will give you the chance to go through the best boots and get a feel for what is available.

Here’s The Other Thing About Ordering Boots Online

When it comes to boots, there are a million and one different options.

For example…

Boots with heels

Boots with no heels

Steel toe

Comp Toe

Moc Toe

Oil-resistant or slip-resistant

And on and on.

If that seems like a lot, it is.

With all of that, I’ve found that most aren’t 100% sure what options would be best for them.

And ordering them online doesn’t help with that.

What Can You Do?

First, watch the video above. It will help break some of this down for you and give you a good idea of where to start.

Second, schedule a boot fitting appointment with us. This appointment will take everything you see in this video and customize it specifically to your needs.

We will not only find the right type of boot, but we’ll find the one that fits correctly and won’t cause you any issues.

Winter Footwear And Weathering The Storm

When it comes to the months between December and early April what type of winter footwear should you be looking for?

Well, we know two things to be true when it comes to the winter.

  1. It’s going to be cold.
  2. It’s going to snow, sleet, freezing rain, and sometimes all of that mixed together.

So it’s important to know what type of shoe can handle the cold, rough weather, and be durable.

In the video below you’ll see what type of shoe works and what you should look for when purchasing any sort of winter footwear.

So check it out.
